Alice Mason, Chief Executive

Our Chief Executive, Alice Mason has been with Manchester Care and Repair since 2020, formerly she has been Chief Exec at a number of charities working in Health and Social Care and International Development as well as working as a consultant, researcher and grants assessor. Alice works with the Board to set the strategic direction and leads the team in organizational development and delivery.

Helen Savin, Services Director

Our Services Director, Helen Savin has been with the organisation for 20 years, she started as an admin officer was promoted to small works coordinator then to handy person and preventative services manager, she became Director of Preventative Services in 2022.

Helen is responsible for our Home from Hospital and handyperson services and has overall responsibility for Quality Assurance, customer care and efficiency within our services. 

Helen Savin, Home Repairs Support Team Lead

Helen leads our Home Repairs Support Team. The team support clients who need major repairs to their homes. Their work includes assessing properties, supporting clients to access appropriate finance (grants and loans), finding contractors and project managing projects on behalf of clients.

Wendy Gardner, Casework Team Lead

Wendy Gardner leads our Casework Team. The casework team visit around 1,000 people per year they Can help people to identify their support needs and access support such as blue badges, aids and adaptions and grants.

The team are experts in benefits assessments and help people to identify their eligibility and make applications for benefits. Every year they help their clients claim hundreds and thousands of pounds worth of additional income.

Wendy is also our Safeguarding Lead.

Matthew Watson, Home from Hospital Team Coordinator

Matthew leads our Home from Hospital Team. The Home from Hospital Team is made up of our Hospital Discharge Assistants, who provide a transport to home service at North Manchester General Hospital and our Independence Support Workers who provide practical and emotional support to people who have just left hospital through a combination of home visits and phone support.

Sharon Dayle, Handypeople Lead

Sharon Dayle leads our team of handypeople. The Team make more than 6,000 home visits per year fitting, fixing, mending and supplying a whole range of things from key safes to grab rails to curtain poles to shelves to leaky taps. The Team is made up of people with backgrounds in a variety of trades and can turn their hands to most small jobs.

Our Support Team

The support team includes our marvellous admin reception workers who are the first people you speak to when you call Manchester Care and Repair as well as business development, fundraising, finance and IT support workers – this team are our unsung heroes.
