Gorton Home Maintenance Project begins- helping Gorton residents to learn DIY skills

Introduction of Trafford Care and Repair

Addition of advocacy and local community services in East Manchester – The Generation Project

Recession and austerity mean that Grant funds for home improvement work is minimal. Expansion of loan programmes to assist homeowners with essential and energy saving repairs

Became a Registered Charity

Awarded the Commissioning Award at the Foundations National Home Safety Awards
2013
Trafford Care and Repair decommissioned
2014
Opened hospital discharge service at North Manchester General hospital

Awarded Handyperson Service of the year at the Foundations National Home Safety Awards

Awarded Home Improvement Agency of the Year at the Foundations National Home Safety Awards

Became Regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority as a loans provider

Awarded the Handyperson Service of the year at the Foundations National Home Safety Awards for the second and third time.

CCG and LA combine all services provided by Manchester Care and Repair into a single, joint commission.
2020
Covid 19 disrupts services. Contactless and minimal contact work continues across the organisation. Handy people deliver medicines, computer equipment and pulse oximeters to vulnerable client groups.
2021
Home First Project starts supporting people with mental health illnesses to move back into a safe and comfortable home environment following a stay in hospital
2021
Awarded Home Improvement Agency of the Year at the Foundations National Home Safety Awards for a second time.

A year of digital transformation is completed with the launch of our new website.
